The procedural and the ephemeral are characteristic elements which are both present in dance and in drawing. Primary focus of this performance series - taking place at Haus am Lützowplatz Berlin - is the close encounter of choreography and drawing. Compositions become scores of the movement as well as drawings in space. Three view points collaborate with choreographers, dancers and musicians aiming to further the current development in graphics and choreography. Within its investigation each artistic position concentrates on a different aspect, thereby allowing viewers to appreciate the full scope of the three proposed formats, offering an overview of current graphic-performative strategies. These encounters between drawing and choreography are conceived so as to facilitate new interpretations of former assumptions on drawing and the way drawings are commonly read. They wish to pave the way to yet unknown forms of graphic notation as well as to provoke a broadening of each artist’s own repertoire.

Via its scientific and theoretical examination of the subject, Trajectories: New Drawing Embodiments aims at positioning itself toward the current discourse on diverse performative practices of contemporary drawing within the international exhibition context and hopes to actively join the discussion the world of art history has been engaged in for years. Dr. Maren Butte is invited to a talk with Jan-Philipp Frühsorge. They will reflect on the phenomenon of the ephemeral in artistic processes hosted by the philosopher Dr. Francesca Raimondi.

This event is the first instance of TRAJECTORIES # 02. The opening of the exhibition will take place at Drawing Hub Berlin on Friday, 9th of September 2017, at 7pm.
